Stephen Blyth became President and Chief Executive Officer of HMC on January 1, 2015. Dr. Blyth joined the firm in 2006, and previously held roles as Head of Internal Management and Head of Public Markets.

Dr. Blyth is also Professor of the Practice of Statistics at Harvard University, where he teaches quantitative finance. In 2013 he was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa prize for excellence in teaching. His book, An Introduction to Quantitative Finance, was published by Oxford University Press in 2013.

Before joining Harvard, Dr. Blyth was Managing Director and head of the global rates proprietary trading group at Deutsche Bank in London, and Managing Director in the derivative products group at Morgan Stanley in New York.

Dr. Blyth earned a PhD in statistics from Harvard University and an MA in mathematics with first class honours from Christ’s College, Cambridge, where he graduated as Third Wrangler. After graduation from Harvard, he was a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College, London.

Dr. Blyth is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Investment Advisory Committee on Financial Markets.
