Founded in 1974, HMC was created to serve as an internal, captive money management firm charged with the responsibility of managing Harvard University’s endowment, pension assets, working capital, and non-cash gifts. Today, HMC operates as a fully integrated investment management company, with almost 200 people in its downtown Boston office responsible for managing over $40 billion of capital.
