ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

LTT - Administrative Assistant

SUMMARY: Provide administrative support to the Chief Operations Officer, Senior Vice Presidents and others as needed in the Operations area. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required. The assistant will be primarily responsible for processing mail, filing, arranging meetings, word processing, spreadsheet preparation, budget analysis, board book preparation, business reporting and various small projects. It is expected that the individual will assist in providing coverage in the department for data entry, and other operations/accounting tasks. This position requires the individual to effectively manage diverse responsibilities while maintaining a high level of organization and flexibility. Good exposure to the operations of a fast-paced investment company may lead to further opportunities.

LTT - Market Risk Analyst

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Market Risk in the Analytics Group, the Market Risk Analyst will assist with developing, implementing and monitoring systems to insure that external manager risks are both understood and within external management portfolio guidelines. Applicant will be responsible for amalgamating and monitoring external manager position exposures, verifying data and analyzing the exposure reports produced prior to distribution. This will be an extremely organized position that requires patience, attention to details, and the ability to interact with a number of different professional groups.

Sr. Associate - Senior Tax Analyst

SUMMARY: This position is critical to Harvards tax reporting for the endowment entities. The analyst will work closely with the Private Capital accounting group and external managers to gather information necessary for annual disclosure, record maintenance and tax return preparation. Significant organization, quantitative and communication skills required. Candidate needs to have a strong accounting background, grounding in tax theory and be a self starter. Ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the investment and back-office environment.

Senior Associate - Middle Office

SUMMARY: The Middle Office function at HMC reports directly to the Portfolio Managers and is responsible for, but not limited to, the validation of the accuracy of portfolio positions and P&L; the prediction and explanation of P&L changes; the development and validation of portfolio risk reporting and the associated analytics; and the assurance that models used for the valuation and risk management of positions are being properly employed and calibrated. Associates will need a solid understanding of fixed income, foreign exchange, or equity products, including derivatives. Middle Office Associates will work closely with Portfolio Managers in order to understand business needs, with IT in order to deliver the required functionality, as well as Operations, Compliance, and Risk to insure adherence to operational, credit, and market risk limits.

INVESTMENT OPERATIONS

Associate - Custody Operations

SUMMARY FOREIGN CUSTODY OPERATIONS: Harvards Foreign Custody Operations unit oversees the control and movement of securities and cash in approximately 50 markets around the world. The current asset value of the securities exceeds $5 Billion and monthly trade volumes (securities only) average 1,500 trades per month. In addition, the department processes a significant number of foreign exchange transactions, money transfers and is responsible for a variety of cash management functions. Harvards Foreign Custody Operations unit manages approximately 200 bank accounts via a network of global custodian banks, depositories and Prime Brokers to settle and safe-keep the assets. The successful candidate for this position must be able to quickly learn the structure of accounts, the global custody network, as well as, the various systems utilized including Confirm/Instruct, Fxall, Invest One, SWIFT and several proprietary custody systems.
