Responsibilities of the Board

The Board of Directors oversees and provides policy guidance on the business and affairs of Harvard Management Company, Inc. It monitors HMC’s overall performance, the integrity of HMC’s controls, and the effectiveness of its legal compliance programs. The Board selects the Chairman of the Board, elects officers, and oversees management. The Board also recommends the Chief Executive Officer of the Company to the Corporation for election. The Board reviews and assesses risks facing HMC and management’s approach to addressing such risk.
